Samsung rolls out three new updates for Galaxy S9 and S9+ in India
These updates are said to be part of Samsung's "continued efforts to drive innovation and give consumers the best that Samsung can offer," said the company in a statement.
The first feature Samsung is offering a one-time screen replacement on both its current generation of Galaxy smartphones. This can be availed from any authorized Samsung service center for a period of 9 months. Customers need to pay Rs 1,999 to be eligible for this, that to only between June 1-30.
Secondly, there is dual VoLTE feature which Galaxy S9 and S9+ users can download via over the air (OTA) update. Till now, a dual-SIM customer could use VoLTE on only one of the two available SIM card that he or she was using. Further, they had to stay on the same network for data as was chosen for VoLTE (voice). However, with this update of dual VoLTE, Galaxy S9 and S9+ customers can be connected to two VoLTE networks simultaneously and can further choose the data network.
Lastly, Samsung is rolling out 18 new AR Emoji Stickers, which was one of the highlights of the Galaxy S9 series. The smartphones’ camera app update, now available in the ‘My apps’ section of the Galaxy Apps store, has expanded AR Emoji’s library of pre-set expressions from 18 to 36.
To recall, both Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ were launched in India in March this year. The company has priced the Samsung Galaxy S9 at Rs 57,900, while the Galaxy S9+ at Rs 64,900.
